Bitcoin rose above the $12,036.6 threshold on Thursday. Bitcoin was trading at 12,036.6 by 23:54 (22:54 GMT) on the Investing.com Index, up 0.25% on the day. It was the largest one-day percentage gain since August 7.

The move upwards pushed Bitcoin's market cap up to $210.7B, or 68.67% of the total cryptocurrency market cap. At its highest, Bitcoin's market cap was $241.2B.

Bitcoin had traded in a range of $11,727.0 to $12,070.8 in the previous twenty-four hours.

Over the past seven days, Bitcoin has seen a rise in value, as it gained 14.17%. The volume of Bitcoin traded in the twenty-four hours to time of writing was $18.9B or 33.33% of the total volume of all cryptocurrencies. It has traded in a range of $10,330.4785 to $12,291.9395 in the past 7 days.

At its current price, Bitcoin is still down 39.43% from its all-time high of $19,870.62 set on December 17, 2017.

Ethereum's market cap was last at $23.5B or 7.65% of the total cryptocurrency market cap, while XRP's market cap totaled $13.1B or 4.28% of the total cryptocurrency market value.
